SAPEA (Science Advice for Policy by European Academies) is actively working to increase the involvement of early- and mid-career researchers in providing high level science and policy advice to the European Union. To better understand the opportunities and challenges encountered by these researchers in the field of science-for-policy, SAPEA, a part of the Scientific Advice Mechanism, has prepared a questionnaire to gather insights from the research community.
Researchers at any career stage and from any research field are encouraged to provide their input. The results will be thoroughly analyzed and presented in a publicly-accessible report in the summer of 2024. Additionally, the report will include best practices derived from the survey data. These findings will play a crucial role in shaping the final version of the SAPEA strategy, with the objective of increasing the engagement of early- and mid-career researchers in science-for-policy initiatives.
By sharing their experiences, researchers have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a more inclusive, diverse, and impactful science-policy landscape within the European Union.
