The Scientific Advice Mechanism (SAM) to the European Commission has published its latest advice on “One Health governance in the EU.” Coordinated by FEAM on behalf of SAPEA, this evidence review aims to inform and guide the European Union on improving the governance of One Health—a concept that recognizes the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health.
You can access the SAPEA Evidence Review Report, along with the relevant Scientific Opinion from the Group of Chief Scientific Advisors to the European Commission, here.
The Making sense of science SAPEA report highlights the fact that many of the world’s most pressing problems are also incredibly complex — including climate change, environmental pollution, economic crises and the digital transformation of societies. What’s more, the scientific knowledge around these areas can often be uncertain or contested.
A new SAPEA video provides further information about the report and EU Science advice:
Society must tackle the challenges presented by ageing in every generation – not leave them until old age.
This is the key conclusion of a major new Evidence Review Report entitled Transforming the Future of Ageing, published recently by SAPEA and led by FEAM.
The report reviews the best evidence on what public policies might help EU countries to achieve fair, inclusive and sustainable health and social care in the future.
The authors, leading scientists nominated by academies across Europe, conclude that the ageing process needs to be transformed – and that the best way to improve life outcomes in old age is to anticipate and tackle them in youth and middle age.
