Summary Report: PERISCOPE Workshop on COVID-19 health inequalities in Europe

This is the Summary Report of the PERISCOPE Workshop on COVID-19 health inequalities in Europe, held on the 29h of September 2021. This workshop is the result of a joint collaboration between 5 different partners under the umbrella of the research project PERISCOPE. PERISCOPE is a European funded project aiming at investigating the broad behavioural and socioeconomic impacts of the current COVID-19 pandemic. It brings together 32 partners from all over Europe, coming from a wide array of expertise.

KNAW advisory report “Greater Efficiency through Innovation”

Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences expertise in the field of drug development is too fragmented, with researchers’ efforts to get their discoveries to the patient being frustrated. National coordination is therefore needed to support researchers and promote cooperation. That will make drug development faster and more effective and give patients better access to new therapies. This is what the Academy calls for in its new advisory report “Greater Efficiency through Innovation”.

European Health Stakeholder Group Statement on the UK data protection regime

The European Health Stakeholder Group welcomes the results of the Article 93 Committee vote on the UK data protection regime on 16 June. EU Member States voted unanimously in favour to approve the adequacy decision which means that the flow of personal data from the EU to the UK will continue uninterrupted post-Brexit.
